Keywords: xwebster, Xcfb, keyclikk Message-ID: Date: 8 Nov 89 05:36:12 GMT Sender: news@helens.STANFORD.EDU Distribution: comp Organization: /usr/user/dick/.organization Lines: 21 Has anyone successfully compiled xwebster using Xcfb UWS2.1 for the DECStation 3100? If so, I'd like to know how as I have tried innumerable permutations of DEC Xt and HPs Xt stuff with Xwhpw R2 and R3 with xwebster 1.0.1 and xwebster 1.1.0, and the best I can get is a module that has textwidget problems of the type discussed in some recent comp.windos.x postings where the "d" and "i" behave very stangely and xwebster hangs on for example, words like food and fodder, but not dog, and it will not recognize the "i" key. Also, Xcfb UWS2.1 has an annoying bug. Using xdm to manage sessions, the login widget comes up with keyclick OFF (thank God). Any attempt to alter that state, even xset c off, turns the keyclick on full blast (Oh NO!) and thereafter the state is unalterable. The ONLY WAY TO GET RID OF THE D__N KEYCLICK IS TO LOGOUT! This is very annoying. It is a server problem wp1 since the xset in the DEC distribution successfully alter the keyclick state on a remote VAX 3200 running Xqdsg, and the 3200 xset can not alter the 3100 keyclick state in a similar fashion. Is this a known bug? with a fix? Any help is greatly appreciated - Thanx - R. Roy
