This might interest many of you on the other side of the Atlantic, too :

A Hooded Mergamser (Mergus/L. cucullatus) was found on the 29th of Oct.
in Naantali, SW Finland. This marvelous adult male was still present on
the next day. This is the second observation of this Nearctic vagrant in
Finland the first being also a male last spring (1989) in Oulu.

No sign of the bird being an escape was found.
