Two of the pieces were works by John Cage incorporating texts from Finnegans Wake and "treating the piano as a percussion instrument throughout". Speaking to Mr de la Mare after the concert, I mentioned other contemporary settings of Joycean texts, and told him about difficulties that the "musician Kate Bush" had with the Joyce estate. He replied that he hadn't heard the new album yet, but "admired Kate Bush a lot". Cheering. -------------------------------------- julian -----------
