I found that the standard 2.1 release didn't have near the problems under DESQview. It still crashes once in a while, but with an acceptable MTBF, and only when things get real hairy. I regularly run NCSA as the only program RUNNING in background with 6-10 other programs loaded. On occasion I let other programs run in background, and so far I haven't been able to blame any of them directly on a crash. I have an HP Vectra ES/12 (12 mhz 286) with 4 meg. My guess is that the extra features in 2.2D eat up too much CPU time, which gets the LAN driver in trouble by being timesliced in the middle of something important. If you don't need the added features, try 2.1. Greg.
