Put in another vote for a new group just for images.
I think comp.graphics.images would be the best name
so as to not limit the types of images submitted.

A few people have mentioned having the group moderated,
what does a moderator have to do besides make sure all
postings conform to the groups posting domain?
I may be interested in moderating it if it is not to
time consuming.
