Ok,  I give up. I RTFM,  I tried what looked reasonable - It's beyond me.

I have a problem of using commands in the tool mode. Say I want to see
messages from a certain user. How do I convince the tool mode to show me
these messages ?
The only thing I found that comes close is the following tiresome procedure: 
    1. define a PFKey to 'pick -f certain_user'
    2. press the PFK
    3. type in the 'range' window the resulting msg numbers.

There must be a better way.

Moreover,  this does not work for all commands. setting a PFK to 'sort d'
and pressing it gives no visible response unless I do it in the "range"
window,  in which case the escape sequence for that PFK is echoed.

I'll appreciate any help,  by e-mail or by posting. Thanks.
