FYI: the name shortening was to contend with a 12 character limitation on filenames (for systems like SYSV - allowing 2 characters for RCS or SCCS archiving facilities) - and thus 7.4 is as good as 8.3 -- the majority of the Andrew distribution is not set up to port to an MS-DOS system (notable exceptions are the ODA parts) --fish (PS: in this case you are probably correct, the shortening went askew - but the filename is used consistently in the Imakefile, so it shouldn't cause any problems)
