Just reset the "deletable" protection bit (using either the "Protect" command or the Workbench "Info" option). Then when you try to discard the "Trash" directory the contents are deleted but the directory and its icon are not. The only drawback to this approach is you have to remember to change the protection bits any time you use Workbench to copy the "Trash" directory to another disk. So, you can simulate the behavior of the trashcan very closely with existing software--which makes the trashcan pretty much redundant. --Fabbian Dufoe 350 Ling-A-Mor Terrace South St. Petersburg, Florida 33705 813-823-2350 UUCP: ...uunet!pdn!jc3b21!fgd3
