I have a programming problem: I am writing (for an assignment) a program that will allow communication between consoles. All it will do is accept input from the console and send it to a task that will divert it to all the other consoles in the pseudo-network. It was supposed to be written on a Unix system for communication between users, but I want to do it at home instead of traveling to the university to develop it. My prof was quite pleased with my ambition, but I am wondering if this 'ambition' is going to kill me. What I would like to do is have any incoming message printed to the console even if the user is in the middle of typing in a line. Is this possible? And for those with any mercy, HOW? Do I have to use non-console I/O? Thank you for your help. Shan
