Keith Dawson mentioned in a previous posting a public domain program called
'xgif' for working with GIF image files. I've asked a few times, but haven't
received replies.

Who's got xgif, and where can I get it? Can I get source with it?
Of course, I haven't been up to my workstations yet this morning, and haven't
checked to see if it's on the Domain/X11 distribution. Well, at least I now
know the name of what I'm looking for, and that it exists. Now, if I could
actually find it, I'd be very happy.
