The best 8-bit reference series I have found on the subject is the SAMS series. In general they are very complete. You should be able to pick one up at an electronics store somewhere in the Big Apple, or failing that you can call SAMS direct at 1-800-428-SAMS. (I THINK that's the number. You may get a doo-wee-dah. If so then ask a computer dealer for the number.) It will probably cost around $20. If you just want to align your 1541, there are some very good alignment checking and documentation files on how to do it yourself on Quantum Link.
