This has been corrected in Clipper with the ISPRINTER() function. There is a dBASE echo area on this BBS (101/45) and it is linked throught the world. Its a better place to ask questions about dBASE. I may have already replied to this once before but am too rummy to remember. I've been using three kinds of disks regularly -- NONE OF THEM RX-50 PREFORMATTED and have never had a failure to format. BASF SS-DD certified for 96 TPI BASF DS-DD not so certified Maxell DS-DD also not certified You do have to format the disks yourself but I'm sure they are FAR CHEAPER than pre-formatted RX-50 disks. The BASF 96 TPI disks were $5 for a box of 10, the Maxells were $8.25 for 15. The prices aren't rock-bottom but not bad. ++ Amer ++ --- * Origin: Glacier Peak Rainbow, Bellevue, WA - 206/644-8431 (Opus 1:343/3) ------------------------------ Date: 11-11-89 To: BILL MAYHEW Subject: RE: DISKS From: FRANK MALLORY BM> Note that some catalogues are carrying things they call Rainbow BM> Diskettes which is not what *we* mean by Rainbow Diskettes. :-} What BM> *they* mean is the diskette jackets (not the sleeves... the jackets) BM> are made in various colors of plastic, and you get an assortment of BM> colors (hence, a "rainbow") of colors in the package.
