Subject: Question about Using MNP for File Transfers

I can't seem to figure out how to use a reliable MNP connection.  Instead of 
speeding up transfer, it doubles transfer time, probably because I'm using 
Xmodem as the protocol.  If one has MNP at both ends of the connection, what 
does one do to achieve optimal transfer speeds?
