I suspect a bad memory chip(s) of sorts. For that reason, I would like to get a hold of a test program that (hopefully) will also pinpoint which chip (assumably if it a wyse specific product), or possibly (after identifying that the system uses 256k chips) can narrow down the list of possible rejects.
