Lines: 15 I own a 512KE at home also with two 400K drives. The system is mostly used by my 4 year old son but I use it to type up documents on occation. System 6.0.4 works well if you do a minimal Mac+ install to an HFS 400K floppy (the installer does not work with MFS disks. To initialize a disk to HFS, hold down the option key when you select erase disk in the Specail meny in the finder). I use Microsoft Word v.3.02 and it runs well (though setting up a usable system on two 400K disks is a trick). Does anyone know of a way to plug 256K simms into these old machines? An inexpensive (<$50) kit (w/o RAM) would be desireable (yes, I own a soldering iron). 800K floppies will work fine on this system. Make sure your system has the new ROMs (that is that it is a 512KE and not a 512K). Sean Parent "Quality unattainable in a reasonable amount of time."
