Can you please tell me the type of keyboard & software... There is a simply marvelous program: TERM that was written at brown University by Peter DiCamillo. It's PD and can be downloaded by FTP from brownvm.brown.edu (128.148.128.40). It will solve any problem you are having with the terminal emulator since it knows all about the weird control characters VM/CMS expects. Alan Legrand
