MEdit version 1.54 has a compatibility problem with Apple's macro software.
When MEdit is opened an IO error is reported.  This seems to have no effect
on subsequent operation of the program, but it brings up the question of
an update to the software.  What are the prospects that MEdit will be updated
in the future?  I sent a letter to the original author, Matthias Aebi, some
time ago, but have received no answer.
