The IE product is designed to be used as a Gateway/Bridge to CE Softwares QuickMail. IE was origionally going to release it as a standalone product (and may eventually do that) but made the decision that it would be better to integrate it into existing Mac services. It allows mail to flow freely between UUCP and QuickMail sites. Binary file transfers look like QuickMail file enclosures from the Mac side and UUCP uusends from the UNIX side. I believe that they plan to release a shareware version that does not support binary files around Jan 1. The integration with QuickMail solves the Mac uucp interface problem. I understand that the product price will be very reasonable.
