Does anyone know how to include comments in the format section portion
of a tbl table?

(By "format section", I mean the portion following the ; and preceding
 the ".").

In complex tables, it seems that it would be very handy to be able to
include comments in the format section -- such as
			c l l l l
			c n n n n \"comment
		-or-
			c l l l l
			.\"comment
			c n n n n

However, when I try these two "obvious" approaches, I get tbl errors. Apparently
since tbl is a PREprocessor to troff, the \".* removal has not yet occurred.
I can only think of passing the stuff through my own "decommenter" first -- but
that is not the most desirable solution ...
