Message-ID: <6286@tank.uchicago.edu> Date: 16 Nov 89 03:14:45 GMT Sender: news@tank.uchicago.edu Distribution: na Organization: University of Chicago Graduate School of Business Lines: 14 I am trying to get TeX for MSDOS using anonymous ftp at SIMTEL20. However, when I run the INITEX program on the file PLAIN.TEX, it bombs saying that the file TEX.POOL is not available. As a matter of fact, the file is present but since DOS file extensions are only three characters long, it does not recognize the file TEX.POO as TEX.POOL. I wonder if those who have set up TeX using SB26TEX ran into this problem and if so, how they got around it. Another thing. I am trying to also get LaTeX but it requires the file LPLAIN.TEX and that does not seem to be available in the SIMTEL archives. Does anyone know how I could get it ?
