Keywords: master xenixconf configure Message-ID: <246@melpar.UUCP> Date: 14 Nov 89 19:32:38 GMT Distribution: usa Organization: E-Systems, Falls Church, VA Lines: 19 We are running SCO Xenix on the 286. I am trying to configure out several drivers in the kernel that we don't need (to save space for others) and have been using both 'configure' and changing the master file myself. I noticed the following: * configure does not appear to update the master file (so if you use configure then modify master, the params you changed under configure are back to their original values) * both master and xenixconf have duplicate configuration params * Should I be changing the configuration params (such as MSGMNI) in both files or only master? * Should I use 'configure' at all since it does not update master? (any advantage?) * I am getting 'DGROUP > 64K' errors no matter what I reduce/comment out. Is there a way to determine how 'close' I am to getting a linked kernel? thanks Doug Toppin uunet!melpar!toppin
