I realize this is a lame question from a novice X programmer,
so disconnect those flamethrowers please.

A couple of days ago, I snatched the sources for "xlife"
out of comp.sources.x .  It makes and runs just fine.
The only problem is that I can't figure out exactly
what its purpose is?  What does "generate" do?
What actions are mapped to the mouse buttons?
What's going on here?

If someone could _mail_ me an explanation, I'd be most thankful.
