I've been trying to think of a good place to hang rl_re_read_init_file, since C-r is taken for history searching. (at least) Two choices: 1. Continue using up control chars. Is there much use for them besides special chars? 2. Use another keymap, bound to C-x maybe. This will leave most of the control chars free.
