While the texinfo.tex file allows "tex gawk" to process the file correctly, texinfo-format-buffer gags on the following control sequences: @syncodeindex @ref @dots{} So, what is wrong? How is one to make an info file out of this texinfo file? The gawk makefile wants to use a program called makeinfo, which I cannot find anywhere in the FSF archives. Am I looking in the wrong places? I've tried ftp from pub/gnu on prep.ai.mit.edu, and don't see it there.
