All my efforts to respond to the mail have failed. 1) Macro question: What is the appropriate newsgroup to post to for advice in solving this problem? 2) Micro question: I'm on the Internet. The machine I want to reach is urbana.mcd.mot.com. The mail gets deferred with a Host Name Lookup Failure. What is a reasonable time for a name search to the top of the heirarchy? What's the worst case time? MOT.COM is a Motorola domain, but not a host. Does Motorola forward mail for other hosts along UUCP links? A series of hosts the mail passed through is listed in the mail header. Should I be able to construct an address from those? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. (Help a poor soul save his hair.)
