Walpole Island First Nation, Kent MP Rex Crawford, and Liberal
Environment Critic Sheila Copps are critical of the Provincial
Government's plans to dredge Lake St. Clair off the tip of Walpole
Island. Concerns raised at the International Joint Commission Biennial 
Conference suggest a possible environmental and health hazard from the 
dredging process and dumping of dredged materials which may contain
PCB's and other hazardous chemicals, posing a threat to human health and
wildlife in the area.
