That all depends on whether you mean the local chapter (most universities have
one) or the national organization...


Local chapters vary wildly depending on the committment of the group at the time

I should know, I'm chaiman of the local SIGGRAPH here at the University of
Illinois.  

AS to the national organization, I'm really not sure...
