In otherwords, I want my program to be able to make printer-independent calls (bold(on), font_select(courier) etc.) and have the library translate to escape sequences. The library would have to have support for a large number of printers, dot matrix to laser. Dot level graphics is NOT required at this time. Any suggestions? Anything to avoid?
