I have the following setup, and I just delete the two I don't want.

    set pre1		= "On %W %M %N, %Y, at %T, I wrote...\n"
    set pre2		= "On %W %M %N, %Y, at %T, you wrote...\n"
    set pre3		= "On %W %M %N, %Y, at %T, %n (%a) wrote...\n"
    set pre_indent_str	= "$pre1$pre2$pre3>\n"
