About a year ago, I remember reading in some newsgroup that someone was
trying to set up a uucp connection to the USSR Academy of Sciences or the
thereabouts.  Any luck yet?

Alternatively, is there any e-mail site in the USSR?  I'm asking this
for a friend who is doing reseach with a person in the USSR and everytime
she sends her stuff to him, there is a 3-4 week turnaround time.  I am trying 
to see if there was any way e-mail can be sent so that this can be cut down.
