There is such a large fan-out on the second level of the heirarchy that one cannot apply DNS like navigation algorithms! On the other hand, if the name of the person is carried in the message, and if a directory is available, it is possible to check back from that name, e.g. read the "address" attribute for the name, and compare it with the value in the message. This will work even if the recipient has several addresses or if the addresses serve several recipients (just like fax). Christian
