As it stands now: rec.games.video For discussions and game hints of arcade, pinball and home system (Nintendo, Sega, etc) games. rec.games.misc For discussions and game hints of computer games and other stuff (what stuff I don't know) It seems that this is there to serve exactly the purpose you suggest.
