The former is the fastest Diskperf-rated but non-DMA controller, the latter being the second fastest Diskperf-rate but DMA controller. Which should I buy? I have heard many good things about the Kronos, but I am unaware of any reports of its performance when the CPU is heavily loaded. Similarly, I'm unaware of how the Hardframe performs under heavy DMA. The prices of the two controllers are close enough for me to ignore the difference. If you have a recommendation or have experience with either controller, please drop me a note at either the address above or in my .signature below. I will post a summary in about a week.
