There is only a certain number of boards that will plug in the A2000 that will work properly. I've accomplished what you wanted with an AST multi-function board that I bought at Egghead. The board cost around $120 + $20 for the extra 128K chips. Once you get the board, you have to change some of the dip swithes on the AST board to set the starting address of RAM (its either C0000 or E0000), tell it you have 128K on the board, and to use COM2 as your serial port (for some reason I couldn't get it to work with COM1).
