Design a test jig first!! At Rye High we used a 6809 single board computer with two STD slots slaved to a PC. By the end of the year only one board functioned correctly. Most of the boards had various address or data line burned either high or low. The technician spent most of his time replacing 6522's as well (ever wonder what happens if you tie RTR to +12V? Apparently you aren't the only one.)
