Message-ID: <1384@gould.doc.ic.ac.uk> Date: 25 Nov 89 17:16:08 GMT Sender: news@doc.ic.ac.uk Reply-To: zmacy64@doc.ic.ac.uk (Charilaos Mitrelias) Organization: Imperial College Department of Computing Lines: 26 I am trying to connect my ST to a terminal socket, which is connected to a PAD linked to JANET. I tried all possible connections but nothing seemed to work. I used the UNITERM terminal emulator and Kermit protocol. Is there anybody out there that can help me? I would really appreciate this... I have an ATARI 520-STM with the TOS on ROM. The terminal socket has the following PINS : 2,3 : Receive and Send data 7 : Signal ground 20 : DTR I was told to wire PINS 4 and 5 of my ST together, PINS 8 and 20 of my ST to PIN 20 of the terminal socket and PIN 7 of my ST to PIN 7 of the terminal socket... I also do not know how should I configure my RS232 port. That is, should I have Xon/Xoff, Rts/Cts, Stop bits, Strip bits etc? I read in the news that there is a problem in the ATARI ST O/S for handling properly the RTS/CTS signal. Could this be probably be the fault? I would really appreciate some kind of help. THANKS IN ADVANCE...
