Lines: 40 Keywords:Geos, Mac, Paint, conversions Since we last wrote... Randy Winchester wrote me (thanks randy) to note that he had been a beta tester for the MAC<-->GEO/Paint conversion software. He said, and I tried, that you should download the Geos->Mac converted MacPaint picture as a 'MacBinary'. The Resource fork >IS< contained in the file. Non-Mac computers (I assume) such as the Sun I use at work are savvy to this and skip the resource fork portion of the MacPaint image. This has been marginally successful - the image is now recognized as a MacPaint image, but has a few errors... this may be the result of other factors, which I will be toying with... BTW - the other issue lately discussed, namely that of GeoWrite conversion, is true - I have successfully printed a GeoWrite doc on our Sun LaserWriter (really an Apple Laserwriter in disguise). The main trick is 1) use the PS.patch to 'fix' your copy of GeoLaser, (that was posted here by some well meaning hacker wasn't it?) 2)printing your file with that (produces a sequential text postscript file) and 3)sending that file to a computer that can print it as postscript. At my site I must add a header to the file for it to be recognized properly - something like: %!PS-Adobe-1.0 %%Creator: ssd1a:anderson (Joel Anderson) %%Title: stdin %%CreationDate: Mon Nov 20 08:56:20 1989 %%DocumentFonts: Times-Roman Times-Italic Times-Bold Symbol Times-Roman DIThacks %%Pages: (atend) %%EndComments ------------------------------------------------------------------------- "We know only the strong will survive, But the meek will inherit.
