At least I've never tried it on my Rainbow I use it on an I*M AT Clone. Might run on the Rainbow using Code Blue, but I haven't got Code Blue yet so I can't say. Works really well on the clone. Apple, Northstar, & Victor 9000 are the only formats that I've come across that it won't format, read, & write. I'll try to leave you a message with the name of the distributor and if I can find it the price. If my memory is good I think it was a firm called MicroSolutions, but I'm not sure. --- TMail v1.12c * Origin: Total Access Board 138/103 Tacoma, Wa (206)472-9884 (1:138/103) ------------------------------ Date: 11-16-89 (22:53) To: ANNETTE MISKIMENS Subject: SCRAM/GRAPHICS From: ERIC SPEARS Scram worked fine. I guess that I've got a graphics card already. Give me a call and I'll either drop off your notebook or you can stop by the office Just let me know. Thanks for all you help. From: AMER NELSON I know Geoff Reed. Everything he's bought from me he's paid for and everything he's borrowed has been returned in A-OK shape. Wish you'd drop the subject. No business I know of carries accounts receivable at 100% on their balance sheets. DIGITAL has an allowance of $74,345,000 as of July 1, 1989. If you've been paid by 4998 out of 5000 you should thank your lucky stars and stop re-hashing this -- your collection rate is nothing short of phenomenal. Also, if you're going to recommend a source for a graphics board, try a LOW COST one -- Newman Group -- $75 (November catalog, p. 8). ++ Amer ++ --- * Origin: Glacier Peak Rainbow, Bellevue, WA - 206/644-8431 (Opus 1:343/3) ------------------------------ Date: 11-18-89 (00:59) To: GEOFF REED Subject: OF BAD APPLES AND THINGS From: MARK BORNSTEIN In a message of <14 Nov 89 12:15:44>, Geoff Reed (1:343/3) writes: > I remember reading in a DEC publication listing 3rd party hardware >options for the rainbow, about a Scsi Host adaptor for the rainbow, I am >very interested in locating the name of the company selling these as I >have access to test cd-rom equipment set up to run on a Scsi bus, and >also Scsi harddrives... Just for fun try plugging into a different outlet. You mean he might have overlooked the obvious? Yeah, I suppose it's possible. I remember a thread last year on INFO-DEC-MICRO about power supplies and the cable connecting them to motherboards would short out. A friend's machine died that way. I just assumed that was the problem this time. George --- ~ EZ 1.23b4 #263 ~ EZ-Reader v1.23 - Now This is Living!!! ------------------------------
