However, it really doesn't matter if it's the compiler or not, as it's the beta version DEC was messing around with a few years ago (I was a DEC employee at the time). Rest assured it's very legal. When I follow the users guide (turn on pwr supply, then sheet feeder, then printer, then form feed) most of the time the first page will not feed because the feeder rollers do not feed the page into the printer, I get a solid red error light on the feeder, yet the printer has paper, is not jamed and the feeder seems to be installed properly and does pull paper out of the printer. Looking for help in how to get it working properly or a way to override and manually load that first sheet. Thanks in advance for your help. From: GEOFF REED Mr. Bournstein, I fealt that your latest rash of attacks upon me deserved at least 1 reply from me. I purchased the disk from you a few years ago, shortly after receipt of the disk I sent a money order made out to mark bornstein to the address you gave on your invoice, which you CLAIM you never recieved. According to my banks records the money order was cashed. You have yet to be reasonable about this, you have yet to send a second invoice to me if in fact you never recieved payment. You refuse to follow Proper buisness procedures about this, and have instead resorted to slandering me nationwide in this public forum. You are not making a good impression on potential customers out here, what if they sent you a payment, and it disappeared? would you attempt to smear their name nationwide? There is a possibility that you never received the money-order, I am willing to admit that (for the moment) but there is also the possibility that you did recieve the M-O and are trying to bilk me out of a lousy $20. I had thought of just sending you another $20 but your latest attack in which this is a response to proves to me that you are acting juvinil enough that you would just slander me more if I gave in to your juvinile games. --- * Origin: Glacier Peak Rainbow, Bellevue, WA - 206/644-8431 (Opus 1:343/3) ------------------------------ Date: 11-20-89 (10:37) To: AMER NELSON Subject: NOT ENOUGH !! It is really not my collection rate which is phenomenal. It is rather, the thousands of wonderful Rainbow customers who it was never necessary to ship C.O.D. to. This applies to all those individuals as well as companies, both large and small who it was my pleasure to deal with. Should my phenomenal rate of people who are honorable enough to pay their bills excuse one CROOK from paying his bill? With the Rainbow world ever shrinking, it is important to the few remaining suppliers and users to know who can and cannot be trusted. I am not the only person he has stiffed. The other party does not wish to raise the "spectre" of a deadbeat. To me it is a matter of principle. I did him a favor and sent him something at my cost because I thought I was helping out a young Rainbow user. He just plain did not pay $23.00 owing. The money is incidental. I would have contribu it to our Rainbow group treasury. He probably paid you because you are physically close and he could not get away with it. He did not pay his bill to me! He is a deadbeat! >Also, if you're going to recommend a source for a graphics board, >try a LOW COST one -- Newman Group -- $75 (November catalog, p. 8). Ah, you are correct. Jim's graphics boards are not 95 as I said. Sorry bout that. He is selling them for $65.00. My mistake. But, moving along now with the tenor of your last sentence above, you forgot to compare Jim's $425 price for a Rainbow with said Newman's. (After all I recommended that purchase also did I not????) That is of course if I am going to recommend a source for things you see: Jim's price INCLUDED a 10 meg disk AND CONTROLLER I think he has 2 Bows left. You forgot to mention that Newman's price for a 10 meg and controller is $420. So using simple math which I learned in kinde I think if one were to follow your recommendation and buy from Newman one would be spending $420 more now wouldn't one? Jim says that while the stuff lasts he will sell Rainbow goods at the LOWEST prices of any dealer in th US. I think that makes Jim a "LOW COST one." ...mark --- msged 1.99L MSC * Origin: Island Logistics (617) 631-3304 (1:101/111) ------------------------------
