It simply disables the portion of memory between 640k and 1M. You can still use that portion of memory for shadow memory though. But I just don't see the different whether I set the shadow memory for BIOS and VIDEO memory. What I want is to really USE the 384k memory that I PAID for. Someone mentioned that one can set the NEAT register to regain the memory. Is there a program to do that? Could someone tell me how to do it? Rick
