Multiple consecutive | characters appear as one (I tried running
vgrind on a "typical" C program).  I can stick a

.tr |\(bv

in there, but it's not quite the same (it descends more that I'd
like).  BTW, \(br doesn't work--it has the same problem | does.

Anyone have a fix or a better workaround?
