I suspect you want two < big tar files with everything. It is a nice feature. But, sometimes I just need to get an individual file or a small subset of the files in a SUBSET :-) < ... All of the subset files are < compressed tar files. Actually, the files are compressed ONLY if the file UXXXxxx.comp (e.g. ULT030.comp) exists in the instctrl directory.
