Indeed, all versions of X11 now in the field are minor protocol revision 0. There have been no changes to the X11 protocol since its initial release (though people are beginning to discuss the possibilty of an upward compatible rev 1 in the next couple years). Protocol revisions have nothing to do with MIT "releases"; referred to by things like X11R?. What is on Ultrix 3.1 UWS 2.1 is roughly R3. I hope this makes things clearer.
