what is the throughput of the mentioned disks ?
i have made the dd test for the quantum pro80s disk with the adaptec aha-1540a
controller and the results are about 220KB/s with xenix and about 470KB/s with
interactive. to be honest, i had expected better results.
(the test is: time dd if=/dev/root of=/dev/null bs=4k count=2000)
of course this is only meaningful for starting gnu emacs etc.
