Simple. uunet is the core of the usenet and all these newsgroups.
The machine is hardly ever down. If you want a feed for news at
your site that is 100% reliable, uunet is the place. HOWEVER, to
connect to uunet, you have to pay a per-minute fee. (uunet has
toll-free 800 lines).
