I'm using the Toshiba edition of the PC-Kwik Power Pak from Multisoft Corp. Quoting from their manual, /T[+|-] enables/disables track reads. MS-DOS frequently requests data from nearby sectors soon after requsting a given sector, so reading the rest of the track in advance usually increases performance. ... In almost all cases, reading the entire track improves the overall performance of your applications. Makes sense to me. I'm using it. It works. Haven't done any benchmarks comparing with vs. without track buffering. I can hear the disk heads move in my T1200 and they move much less often since I installed the cache. -- Ron Heiby, heiby@chg.mcd.mot.com Moderator: comp.newprod "Life is indeed an inexplicable sequence of imponderable surprises."
