I think most of you think I'm pretty stupid, but that's my fault. I did get the key answer I was looking for. How to change the structure of a database from *within* an application. 1. copy structure extended to a file 2. use the file you just made 3. add a record to this database to make new field 4. create new database using this file 5. append data into new database 6. delete original database and put new database in it's place. By the By, I *do* know that modify structure allows you to edit the structure of a database from the dot prompt! Thanks anyway.
