S53 is used on the Telebit Plus - and has 6 settings.  This register is
labeled Data Carrier Detect and Data Set Ready Interpretation.

The 2500 uses register 130 and 131 in it's place.  130 is Data Set Ready
interpretation, and 131 is Data Carrier Detect interpretation.  A register for
each type.   130 has 6 settings and 131 has 4.
