That I found was that if you issue the 'record' button as soon as you can after the pre-roll to edit, the Vas can skip a frame. Try putting a delay between the reception of the pre-roll finished char and issuing the record command. The Vas IV was designed for people and the computer interface was an after thought. Many of the commands can't be issued too close together or you get strange non-repeatable problems. I'd like to have all the Vas users talk together. I got NO software for my system, I had to write my own. I never got any support from Lyon-Lamb. Is this what other people had to put up with? I'm new on the net so I don't have a logo/signoff yet.
