My setup is: <80386 PC 1Mb>---parallel------?serial?--- I would occasionally like to print in Postscript from either box [not at the same time !-)], switching mode on the front panel as needed. Since a software emulator or add-in board* on one machine wouldn't help the other, I'm naturally looking at options specific to the printer. I know that HP's new PS cartridges won't work with the LJ II (why?). So that takes me to (1) Pacific Page: Would it work in the above situation? (2) A possible rub: My DOS application downloads 16 or more non-Adobe soft fonts. The Nov. 28 PC Magazine review gave the impression that Pac Page can only handle four. Is this so? (I haven't asked them yet.) (3) Is there another solution? I thought I read that the LJ II controller could be upgraded to that of the IID (or IIP), but the local HP dealer says no. *Could an add-in PC board do the trick? Generally, is there anything I could be missing with these plans. I will gladly summarize e-mailed responses. Kenneth W. Regan Assistant Professor Computer Science Dept.
